“You either walk inside your story and own it or you stand outside your story and hustle for your worthiness.” -Brene Brown

Erica Schaefer MA LPC

Life can be messy. When trauma or stress is experienced, it can feel like life is unravelling.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) I understand that everyone is simply trying to find their way in the world. This is why I take a holistic approach to counseling and believe our physical and mental health are closely connected. It’s important to create a balanced life with clarity, confidence and tools to navigate triggers and negative thoughts.

For the past 12 years I have counseled children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. I create a safe and non-judgmental space where clients can develop healthy perceptions of themselves, strengthen their relationships, find their life passion and remove blocks that are keeping them from achieving their personal goals.

With me you can expect a practical, direct and down to earth approach—designed to meet you where you are.

No single approach is right for every individual. Together we’ll find an approach that best fits you.

On a Personal Note:

I am a PTSD and severe anxiety survivor. Counseling changed my life and inspired me to help others find life change.

One of my favorite quotes is “I think I can. I think I can” - The Little Engine That Could. I  believe there is so much power in positive thinking and our thoughts dictate our future.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing Soccer, paddle-boarding, going on adventures, hiking, and all things Michigan! I also spend a lot of time supporting adoptive parents, advocating for adoption and fighting for abandoned children and orphans around the world.
